Test Drive the New Aston Martin Vantage near Darien, CT

Some cars can be understood from a specification sheet. The new Aston Martin Vantage is not one of them. Yes, the numbers are extraordinary, and this article will get to them, but the Vantage was engineered around sensations no page can carry: the weight of the steering loading up through a fast corner, the V8 hardening its voice past four thousand rpm, the way a proper front-engine sports car settles onto its rear axle when you commit. Aston Martin built this car for real drivers, and the only honest way to evaluate it is from the driver’s seat. For shoppers near Darien, that seat is about twenty minutes away.

Miller Motorcars at 342 West Putnam Avenue in Greenwich has been Connecticut’s only factory-authorized Aston Martin dealer since 1976, and the team there arranges Vantage test drives for serious shoppers with the ease of a phone call. Before you make it, here is what you will be driving.

The New Vantage: Aston Martin’s Sharpest Sports Car

The current Vantage represents the most comprehensive transformation in the nameplate’s modern history. Aston Martin’s engineers raised output by nearly a third over the previous car, stiffened and widened the chassis, reworked the suspension around new adaptive damper technology, and redesigned the cabin from scratch. The result is a front-engine, rear-drive sports car with near perfect fifty-fifty weight balance and a singular mission: to be the most engaging car in its class to actually drive. Reviewers have largely concluded it succeeded, with Car and Driver’s Vantage coverage placing it among the finest driver’s cars at any price. But their seat time is not yours, which is rather the point of this article.

What You Will Feel in the First Mile

656 Horsepower with Zero Patience

Under the long hood sits a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 tuned by Aston Martin to 656 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque, figures that translate to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 202 mph. On your test drive, the number that matters is none of those. It is the immediacy: torque arrives low and everywhere, the eight-speed automatic snaps between ratios with genuine aggression in Sport Plus, and the exhaust delivers a baritone that turns every overpass on the Post Road into an amphitheater. Within the first mile you will understand why this engine dominates the conversation about the car.

A Chassis That Talks Back

The deeper revelation comes in the corners. The Vantage rides on intelligent Bilstein DTX adaptive dampers that read the road continuously, an electronic rear differential that manages traction with scalpel precision, and a steering rack that transmits genuine texture from the pavement to your palms. The balance is the magic: with the engine set behind the front axle and the mass split evenly across the car, the Vantage rotates around its driver rather than pushing ahead of them. Ask the Miller Motorcars team to route your drive through some of the winding backroads north of the Merritt, because a straight-line demonstration wastes half of what this chassis can do. Massive brakes, with carbon ceramics available for buyers who intend to explore the car’s upper reaches, complete a package that flatters careful drivers and rewards skilled ones.

A Cabin Built Around the Driver

Step inside and the second transformation is obvious. The new Vantage interior abandons the old borrowed switchgear for Aston Martin’s own beautifully resolved architecture: a crisp 10.25-inch infotainment system with wireless smartphone integration, genuine physical rotary controls and switches for the functions drivers touch constantly, and materials, from hand-stitched leather to cool machined metal, assembled with the care of a marque that still considers craftsmanship a performance metric. An available Bowers and Wilkins audio system provides the soundtrack for the rare moments you prefer it to the engine. On your test drive, take a minute before setting off just to sit in the thing. The driving position alone, low, centered, and perfectly oriented, tells you what the car believes in.

Coupe, Roadster, and the Vantage S

The 2026 range gives shoppers three expressions of the same idea. The Coupe is the pure form, its roofline completing one of the most beautiful silhouettes in the segment. The Roadster brings the V8 into open air through a fabric roof that operates in under seven seconds, among the fastest in the industry, with no meaningful sacrifice in pace or poise. And for drivers who want the sharpest edge, the new Vantage S raises output to 671 horsepower with recalibrated dynamics that lean the car further toward the track without abandoning the road. Driving more than one variant back to back is the fastest way to learn which Vantage is yours, and the Greenwich showroom is one of very few places in the region where that comparison is possible.

Why Test Drive at Miller Motorcars

The team has represented Aston Martin in Connecticut since 1976, which means your questions about specification, allocation timing, options that hold value, and the realities of ownership get answered from experience rather than a brochure. The relationship extends past the purchase, too: the on-site service department maintains Aston Martins with factory diagnostics and genuine parts, the finance team structures terms suited to six-figure sports cars, and drivers stepping up from another marque will find the pre-owned inventory and trade process ready to make the move seamless.

Insufficient Funds

If a person writes a check without sufficient funds in an associated account to cover it, the check will bounce, or be returned for insufficient funds. Each state has laws regulating how merchants may respond to bounced checks. In Connecticut, the merchant may file a civil suit and press criminal charges if the check writer does not reimburse him for a bounced check after the merchant has sent several notices regarding the matter.

Posted Notice Requirement

Merchants and other business owners who accept checks must post a notice where customers are likely to see it warning them of the potential consequences of writing bad checks. The notice must include the civil penalties that bad check writers may face, the appropriate Connecticut statute number and an advisory that the check writer may also face criminal penalties

Civil and Criminal Penalties

As of 2010, civil courts may require the check writer to reimburse the merchant for the value of the check plus pay up to $750 if he has no back account or $400 if the check is returned for insufficient funds. If the merchant chooses to press criminal charges, the bad check writer may face a fine of up to $1,000 and up to one year in jail. Writing a bad check is a felony charge if the check was for more than $1,000 and a misdemeanor if written for a lesser amount.

Required Written Notices

If a check bounces, the merchant must send the check writer a letter by certified mail at the check writer's last known address or place of business. Usually this letter is sent to the address on the writer's check. The letter must inform the writer that the check was returned ask him to reimburse the merchant for the amount of the check and inform him of the potential criminal or civil penalties if he fails to do so. If the check writers does not respond to the letter within 15 days of receipt, the merchant must send a second letter. This letter must inform the check writer that he has 30 days to reimburse the merchant before the merchant takes legal action against him. Both letters must be written in both English and Spanish.
